The Hill
Breathless, we flung us on the windy hill,
Laughed in the sun, and kissed the lovely grass.

—-And then you suddenly cried, and turned away.“The Hill” by Rupert Brooke is a poem I came across in high school that really struck a chord with me. In the midst of figuring out who I was as a person, the story of the young lovers in this poem and their beliefs definitely affected my thinking. The quotation “Through glory and ecstasy we pass” is to remind myself that everything I could want is here on earth; my task is finding the courage to go after it.
